The Mantid Epic Board (https://stfc.atlassian.net/jira/software/c/projects/SS/boards/568) has now frozen to allow for the MPB to review epics ahead of the Prioritisation meeting on 26th January.
There are 2 new Epics in the Analyzing column. These need to be reviewed in full to either move forward to Ready or backwards to Reviewing

Simultaneous Global Fitting (SS-236)

Interactive and Batch Processing workflow (SS-279)
There are 3 Epics in the Reviewing column to be assessed for moving to the Done column. Each have updates in the comments for you to look at.

Extinction and attenuation correction (SS-28)

Nexus file handling consolidation (SS-30)
*
Mantid fitting engine replacement (SS-15)
There is 1 Epic in the Ready column that is seeking to be re-prioritised. It has been revamped with new information and David will be talking about it further at the meeting on the 26th.

ConvertToMD continuous rotation extension for Mantid (SS-259)
A number of other Epics have had updates added via comments too.
Please add comments to Epics if you have further queries. We will try to get these answered ahead of the meeting on the 26th to aid deliberations.

Richard will be the (interim) chair at the next MPB meeting 2nd Feb.

Also, with the move to SC where budget holder means something different, from conversation from Hannah she may not event be a budget holder in SC context. Dear all,
As you will have seen from e-mails earlier this week there has been another push to advertise the User Meeting on 6th November. A timetable is in place (although I believe Steve is chasing people to present) - https://indico.stfc.ac.uk/event/1425/timetable/#20251106.detailed .
Please can you circulate the information about the user meeting to your networks. As a developer I don't have any science based networks I can circulate to beyond the ISIS Instrument scientist list.

Subject: Jira: ISIS to SCD migration
Dear all,
We have recently been testing the migration of our Jira projects from our current https://isisneutronmuon.atlassian.net (paid for by ICD) to https://stfc.atlassian.net (paid for by SCD). Migrating our projects to the instance managed by SCD gives several advantages:
* Lowers the barrier to collaboration with SCD/ALC. Issues will no longer have to be kept in sync between instances
* Lowers the overall cost to STFC. The ISIS & SCD instances are entirely separate Atlassian subscriptions so users wanting to see issues in both required a license in both.
* Uses SSO by default.
Janu has validated & tested the process of copying our current projects over to the STFC instance and we are confident that it works well. We would like to avoid renewing our ISIS subscription (expiring at the end of September) for another year and so we are aiming to perform the migration by end of Friday 5th September.
All active issues/boards/projects will be migrated automatically. On 5th September an invite email will be sent out to all current ISIS Jira users for them to join the SCD Jira. Once registered the usability should be the same as before as it is still the same product just hosted in a separate instance. After a week, assuming all goes well, we will put in a redirect so that the ICD instance automatically redirects to the STFC instance.
Please let those on your team who also use Jira know. A separate email will be sent to the non-ICD Jira users later today.

Dear all,
I am e-mailing to ask for a re-review of the Instrument View Epic (https://isisneutronmuon.atlassian.net/browse/SS-117 ).
The requests made to change the epic to take account of GUIs that use Instrument View (e.g. ALFView) have been completed.
We have also checked with the science areas requested. For those that did not respond initially we gave them until 1st November for comment otherwise we would assume assent. We have now received all the responses we can expect - please see the other e-mail chain to the list for more details. Therefore I am asking for the board to make a decision as soon as possible on this one as we would like to start work on it.
We have not done this before but I think we would need a yes or no in writing (i.e. response to this e-mail).

Dear all,
Looking back at my notes from the prioritisation meeting last week I realised that I didn't have all the information I need. With regards the Instrument View epic which areas do we need to show the Epic to and get sign off? I want to be very clear about this to avoid any further problems with this epic.
I think it is just
- Molecular Spectroscopy
- Muons
- Reflectometry
Is that correct?
They don't need to be stakeholders - just review the epic, provide feedback and once they are happy say that they agree with it.

Hi,
I know not the most exciting topic! However, the existing Terms of Reference, i.e. [?docx icon] MantidProgrammeBoard.docx<https://stfc365.sharepoint.com/:w:/r/sites/MantidProgrammeBoard/Shared%20Do…>, is hugely out of date.
Please see [?docx icon] Proposed update to the MantidProgrammeBoard terms - Oct 2024.docx<https://stfc365.sharepoint.com/:w:/r/sites/MantidProgrammeBoard/Shared%20Do…> for proposed updated Terms, which is ~600 words long as compared to current ~1600 words long Terms.
Motivation for doing this also is that we have new members coming in/out with Steve/Rob and Jonathan/Gui, hence a closer to reality description of this board might be helpful.
Note the wording of the Terms says that it needs approval including by the ISIS Computing Division Head (as I read it). Hence before passing it to Hannah, either before or on Thursday please don't hesitate to provide feedback in that meeting, here or using Word comments/track changes.

Remember you will be able to ask Richard questions about the Bragg Peak Epic in the Implementing (Persevere) column as part of his presentation to help with your decision making.
