Hi Robert,
Great, thanks. We use only virtualGL 2.5.2 on our VMs so they’ll both be using the same version. It could be that 6.7 uses some sort of new feature that VirtualGL 2.5.2 can’t handle. Or it might be nothing to do with VirtualGL, we’ll see if version 3 fixes the problem. To reproduce the error, I’m opening Mantid 6.7, going to Interfaces, and selecting ISIS Reflectometry, then closing that window which crashes Mantid. Is that the right way to reproduce it?
Thanks,
Adam

Hi Adam,
I would be happy to do some testing to make sure VirtualGL 3+ works for a Mantid GPU workflow.
I am slightly confused why the same error doesn’t occur on the VM for Mantid version 6.6, but it does for 6.7 . I would have thought they would both use the same VirtualGL version installed on the system? Unless the different versions of Mantid could be using different VirtualGL versions?
Thanks,
Rob

Hello,
I have received an error report of a crash in Mantid as seen in this issue: https://github.com/mantidproject/mantid/issues/35843 , specifically on a Mantid IDAaaS instance with a GPU (and only affecting Mantid v6.7 and nightly).
It appears we have had this problem previously, and it can be fixed by upgrading virtualgl to be >= v3 (see the thread in the issue). Do you know what version of virtualgl is currently being used? Please can you upgrade virtualgl to be >= 3?
Many thanks,
Rob Applin
