Thanks Steve :)
I have addressed most of your comments and reworded/reordered things slightly.
With regards the 'benefit to ISIS' - we do ask for this as part of the template. I
felt that we do talk about this section as part of our deliberations. Perhaps this needs
rewording rather than removing altogether?
All the best

Subject: [Mpb] Re: Agenda item no. 5 today - Epic site
Good idea!
Intro
- Maybe explain why 3 months? ie, a sprint?
What are Epics?
- Space needed before (ie, big)
- I do have a concern that saying people might need to spend 45 mins filling in 2
sides of A4 comes across negatively (even if every Epic I've helped shape has taken at
least twice as long as this!). But I also see that we need to convey the importance of the
process and it does take time to get it right. Not sure what to do here! Maybe just
underpin the time element with something about needing to capture the requirements
accurately?
- Could I suggest we not refer to the content of Epics as problems?! Perhaps say
'why this piece of work needs to be addressed/progressed'?
Getting started
- Do we really mean 'have a benefit to ISIS'? Certainly we'd expect
some benefit to at least some area of the ISIS science programme. But we don't want
people to think that a technique-specific Epic won't fly, for example. Equally,
cross-facility benefit would also be good.
- I would word the form filling out bit more strongly: actively encouraging it to
be filled out in direct consultation with a member of the Mantid Team.

Subject: [Mpb] Agenda item no. 5 today - Epic site
Dear all,
As part of Agenda item no 5 for today's meeting I will be showing you a page I have
drafted for the Mantid SharePoint site about Epics. The intended audience is ISIS so it is
aimed at those who will be writing/delivering Epics or who will directly benefit from
Epics.
There won't be time to look at it in detail so it any of you want a quick look before
the meeting it is available at
https://stfc365.sharepoint.com/sites/Mantid/SitePages/Mantid-Epics.aspx .
Provided we are generally happy with it I was planning a soft launch of it to the Mantid
Team, Epic Owners and Stakeholders later this week or when I return from leave at the end
of the month.
All the best
